Robert van Loon is an independent trainer, delivering training and consultancy services all over the world for banks, institutional investors, consultancy firms and business schools. Before starting his career as a trainer, Robert worked in various roles in the global financial markets for about 10 years. Robert has extensive experience in delivering training to a diverse audience, ranging from graduates all the way up to senior executive and board member level.

Practical Working Experience
After obtaining his master's degree in Investment Theory at Tilburg University, Robert started his career on the trading floor at ABN AMRO in Amsterdam. He then went on to work as a buy-side trader for APG Asset Management in Amsterdam. In this role he was responsible for the currency trading book, ran a proprietary trading portfolio and traded derivatives on various asset classes.
Previous to starting his career as a trainer, Robert worked on the Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities trading floor at Goldman Sachs in London for 5 years. At Goldman Sachs he was responsible for advising Dutch and German institutional clients (pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers and banks) on strategic and tactical, financial risk management issues. He was also responsible for client acquisition and relationship management.
